Harmony through World Diversity
The Monterey Beer Festival is committed to furthering world harmony and understanding through the sharing of diverse styles of beer from all nations. We believe the path to a more harmonious world lies through the forest of mutual enjoyment of the simple pleasures we all enjoy, such as beer. No matter where you come from, what you wear, what type of music you listen to, what color you are, your nation's beer is being made from the same basic ingredients; water, malt, hops and yeast. The joyful differences lie in each brewer's personal diversity, along with each area's climate and geographical variations. At the Monterey Beer Festival, we celebrate that diversity. Come join us as we present to you excitingly different styles from the following breweries:

Food & Music
Our always great food vendors, USA Brats, Thaiwaiian Noodles, Monterey Calamari and Chong's Korean BBQ will be joined this year by Don's Tri-Tip Sandwiches, so the food choices will be a perfect match with the wonderful assortment of beer. And don't forget the fun live music. This year's lineup begins with two local bands, The Nancy Boys, who, in one form or another have played in every Monterey Beer Festival. Filling out the middle of the program will be the rock and roll band The Play, then to wrap up the event, the unique and very fun San Francisco based Gun and Doll Show.
Once again, the amazing Monterey Stinging Jellies, a local Disc Golf club led by Sean Allen of Monterey's Trailside Cafe, will have a booth to give demonstrations.
New Location
Thus begins the first year of the Monterey Beer Festival at the Monterey Fairgrounds, home to such greats as the Monterey Jazz Festival, Monterey Blues Festival, Monterey County Fair and others. It also marks the move to a one-time per year event, to occur during the summer. Past Monterey Beer Festivals were held twice a year in spring and fall. The event organizers decided to focus on the theme of promoting world harmony and understanding by really bulking up the selections of great international breweries, moving to the larger, more appealing Monterey Fairgrounds and paving the way for the biggest, greatest international beer festival in this part of the country. So come join the fun.
