Welcome to Rancho Cellars, THE WINE SHOP on the Monterey Peninsula, in beautiful Carmel, California. When we opended our doors over six years ago, our vision was to provide the best and largest selection of domestic and imported wines to our customers. Currently some 3000 labels are on the floor for purchase, including some of the most sought after, exclusive, highly allocated cult wines, as well as a wide variety of affordable, everyday, drinking wines.
 Rancho Cellars is located at the mouth of the beautiful Carmel Valley, a wine region of growing reputation, as well as one of the more beautiful places in the world. You are cordially invited to visit us and take advantage of the unusual blend of educational programs, professional staff and extensive product lines.
For our website, we have handpicked what we consider to be the most unique domestic and international wine offerings, and have broken these down into easily browsed categories.
As you browse the various labels you will see wines from France, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany, to name just a few locals, as well as a diverse selection of domestic offerings. We have a special emphasis, and interest, in our own local wines, which are generally very highly rated and popular with our local clientele, and we are eager to share these gems with our customers. And if you are trying to locate a wine not found on our site or in our store, we will make every effort to find and deliver it to you.
 In order to continue to offer our discerning customers the "best of the best", we are constantly searching for special hand crafted wines. Each wine is selected by our tasting panel of three wine professionals, and given the attention that it deserves. Our staff takes particular pride in providing and recommending lesser known wines not generally found in local supermarkets or large retail houses.

All members of our staff are highly qualifed in providing detailed information about every wine in our store, as well as offering expertise in wine and food pairing.  Jacques Melac is a native of France, and has an extensive knowledge of European wines. He and his wife, Janet (a graduate of Cordon Bleu in Paris), owned and operated the well-loved and renowned Melac's Restaurant in Pacific Grove for 10 years. He is the Director of Sales for Rancho Cellars, as well as a Sommelier. Janet prepares the appetizers served at our weekly tasting events. |

 Will Warto is a Northern California native who spent several years in the fast-paced environs of the Silicon Valley before jumping headfirst into the world of wine and hospitality. An aspiring Sommelier, Will spent time at wineries in the Santa Cruz Mountains prior to joining Rancho Cellars. Quick and nimble on the keyboard writing about the grapes he loves, yet always asserting an eagerness to greet anyone at the door, it’s all part of a lifelong crusade of the grape!
